Looks we Love for Labor Day Weekend

Okay, okay, we know we’re biased. But if you’ve been eyeing a cute backpack (whether you fancy crossbody or two-strap styles) to get you closer to a life of sweet freedom and adventure, these summer outfit ideas will make you want to take the plunge once and for all. You don’t have to sacrifice style for practicality, promise!

We’ve also included some of our favorite ethical/sustainable/vegan brands as the cherry on top of all the deliciousness. Righteous!

Jumpsuit // Suzani Bag // Shoes // Earrings

Color lovers, this is for you! One thing we enjoy about wearing a backpack is that you can go bold with pattern (like our hand- embroidered Suzani Drawstring) because it’s on your back and won’t overwhelm the rest of your look. But turn around and bam! A surprise! This Vermilion linen jumpsuit from Rachel Craven is light, easy, and casual, yet statement making with its bold color which contrasts beautifully with the bright yellows, reds, and blues in the Suzani. And speaking of blue, these Annie Costello Brown earrings are the perfect shade of it, guaranteed to make people stop you on the street to ask where they’re from! Finish everything off with vintage inspired these wedges from RAFA (a brand we love because they’re made in the USA using sustainable and ethical production processes) and you’re a walking symphony of color.

Scarf // Top // Indigo Kantha Crossbody Bag // Sneakers // Skirt // Sunglasses

Let’s call this outfit a series of elevated basics. A tank and mini skirt are a classic combo for the summer, but here you’ve got a unique twist on it with a white spaghetti strap top with a cascading ruffle by Stelen and a striped mini with little tortoiseshell buttons down the side by Whimsy + Row. Add our favorite kicks and tie your hair up 50’s style with the Metronome scarf from Block Shop. Top it all off with the Man Repeller Unibrow Sunglasses (that name!) and you’re ready for a stroll in our indigo over-dyed Kantha Crossbody, a nod to what is arguably the best classic of them all, the blue jean.

Summersalt swimsuits // Helen Canvas Crossbody Bag // Cover up skirt // Sunglasses // Shoes

We wanted to include an outfit for the beach because — duh — that’s where we’re spending most of Labor Day weekend. We love all of the Summersalt swim suits not only because they’re made from luxurious recycled materials, but because they’re so refreshingly size inclusive as well. This color block number in particular caught our eye because it hints at the color block going on in our Helene Crossbody without being too matchy – matchy. But then of course we had to add some kind of print because who would we be without that?? Mara Hoffman’s Katrine striped coverup skirt offers a bit of sweetness, and accessorized with this modern version of cat- eye sunglasses and some warm brown mules, can take you from the beach to a café in Capri in no time.

Shoes // Kantha Drawstring Backpack // Dress // Earrings // Bracelets // Rings

We like to call ourselves failed minimalists. So while we love simple shapes and silhouettes, we also love to stack things up and throw lots of color and pattern into the mix. This dress by fellow textile lovers at Ace & Jig, has a print we adore and a casual vibe that works perfectly with our bright blue Kantha Drawstring. Add some warm bronze cuffs and delicate gold rings, modernist, asymmetrical earrings, and rustic white espadrille sandals from Castaner to complete the look of a person who spent their summer in Tulum.
